ABOUT YSA
Director . Screenwriter . Camera Assistant
Ysabeaux "Ysa" Ng is a Chinese American filmmaker from the rolling hills of Eastern Washington. Now based out of Los Angeles, Ng attends the American Film Institute as a Screenwriting Fellow and will complete an MFA in Screenwriting come August of 2024. She holds a BA in Media Arts Studies from Brigham Young University. Ng is experienced in commercial, short film, feature film, TV comedy series, and radio production.
Ng specializes in children's animated screenplays and live-action directing work. Ng's reel is centered around intersectionality--the key theme in her work is that radical empathy relies on contradicting truths as the crux of the human experience. Her upcoming short film, A Faded Yellow, won first place in the 2022 Mayhew Screenwriting Contest and is to make its festival premiere in 2025. Her writer's portfolio is available upon request.
